Help Portrait is:

A global movement of photographers using their time, gear and expertise to give back to those in need.

Help Portrait NWA is:

A group of photographers and volunteers in Northwest Arkansas who identify with and carry out the mission of Help Portrait.

What we do:

Find someone in need, take their portrait, print it and give it to them.

Details:

Help Portrait was founded by Nashville photographer, Jeremy Cowart. The idea was launched on twitter and a couple of people blogged about it. This was in August of 2009. By December of that same year, there were Help Portrait events planned in 47 different countries as well as in all 50 U.S. states.

We currently have two Help Portrait events every year in Northwest Arkansas. Besides the world wide event in December, we also have a Highschool Senior event in April. We currently seek out people in need through our connections with The Cobblestone Project, The Samaritan Community Center, and other local organizations and other individuals in the area. If you know someone in need, please contact us.

We are currently an initiative of The Cobblestone Project and therefore, we are able to accept donations on a tax deductible basis. For more information, please email us: help.portrait.nwa@gmail.com
